Vantage vs SubmitX: which management software for a Quebec contractor in 2026?

Vantage and SubmitX are two management software products designed in Quebec for construction contractors, with an AI that helps build quotes. Vantage bets on a low entry price and a 30-day trial with no credit card; SubmitX also covers CCQ payroll and SEAO monitoring. Here is what each one actually publishes, to help you choose without guessing.

Vantage: overview and what the software does well

💡 Transparency: this article is written by the SubmitX team, so we are both judge and party. The facts about Vantage come from its public pages (home, pricing, features) viewed on October 26, 2026. "Not published" means absent from those pages on that date, not non-existent. See an error? Write to support@submitx.ca and we will correct it.

Vantage presents itself as "the management platform for construction contractors in Quebec", made in Quebec. Its site mentions trades such as roofing, excavation, renovation, electrical, carpentry and plumbing. The core message: describe the job out loud and let the AI produce the quote lines with your own prices.

Strengths we can verify

For a small team that mostly wants to get its quotes out faster and invoice cleanly, it is a coherent offer that costs little to try.

Vantage and SubmitX pricing

According to the Vantage Pricing page (vantagesuite.ca/pricing, viewed on October 26, 2026), prices are in Canadian dollars, taxes extra:

SubmitX gives its prices on request, depending on the plan: Free (1 user, unlimited quotes, no AI credits included), Starter (up to 3 users, 100 AI credits per month), Pro (up to 25 users, 300 AI credits per month) and Ultra (25 users and more). Paid plans can be tried for 7 days with no card. Details on the Pricing page.

The logic is different. Vantage bills per office user and leaves field employees unlimited; SubmitX includes a fixed number of users per plan (hard cap, no add-ons sold one by one). For one or two people in the office, Vantage is cheaper on paper. Do the math with your real number of office users and your needs (payroll, SEAO) before concluding.

Language, Quebec and data hosting

Both software products are in French. Vantage offers an FR/EN site, bilingual documents and support in French; its footer states "Files hosted in Quebec" and "Law 25 compliant". Its FAQ mentions a secure cloud infrastructure, daily backups and an isolated space per company, without naming a provider. The site states that it is operated by Frédéric Dreyer.

Vantage states that it uses GPT-4o for its "weekly AI insights" (Compagnie plan). On the pages we viewed, we did not find the list of its subprocessors outside Canada.

At SubmitX, the database and files are hosted in Canada (AWS ca-central-1, Montreal). Some subprocessors are in the United States (Anthropic for AI, Vercel, Stripe, Resend, Twilio, among others); the full list is published. Neither SubmitX nor Anthropic trains an AI model on customer data. See the security FAQ.

CCQ payroll, GST/QST and SEAO

If you have employees covered by the CCQ, this is often the deciding point. Our 2026 CCQ rate calculator lets you check your trades' rates, whichever software you choose.

How to test both without wasting time

1

Pick 5 real quotes

Take recent jobs whose final price you know. Do them in both software products during their respective trials (30 days at Vantage, 7 days at SubmitX).

2

Compare the price gap and the time

Note the time spent and the gap with your real price. Check where each price comes from: your library, a supplier, an estimate.

3

Test the invoice and taxes

Convert an accepted quote into an invoice, check the GST (5%) and QST (9.975%), then sending it to the client.

4

Check your payroll and tender needs

If you have CCQ employees or bid on public tenders, test those workflows specifically.

5

Import your data

Both software products import clients and materials by CSV. At SubmitX, the Excel/CSV import is free; a full migration by our team is offered as an option (price on request).

Frequently asked questions

How much does Vantage cost?

According to vantagesuite.ca/pricing (viewed on October 26, 2026): Pro plan $68/month billed annually or $85/month billed monthly (1 office user), Compagnie plan $156/month billed annually or $185/month billed monthly (2 office users), $15/month per additional office user, in Canadian dollars, GST and QST extra. Field employees are unlimited.

Does the Vantage trial require a credit card?

No. Vantage offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card; after that, the account becomes read-only with no data deleted. The SubmitX trial lasts 7 days, also with no card, and the account then stays on the Free plan.

Is Vantage available in French?

Yes. Vantage is made in Quebec, its site is offered in French and English, its support is in French and its documents can be produced in both languages.

Does Vantage do CCQ payroll?

We found no payroll module on Vantage's pages (verified on October 26, 2026). It offers timesheets exportable as CSV and an AI assistant that cites CCQ standards. SubmitX includes CCQ payroll.

Does Vantage connect to QuickBooks?

Its features page announces a QuickBooks Online integration "coming soon". SubmitX already syncs with QuickBooks Online and exports to Acomba and Sage 50.

What is the difference between Vantage's AI and SubmitX's?

Both generate quote lines from a description. Vantage limits generation to 30 quotes per month on the Pro plan and makes it unlimited on the Compagnie plan. SubmitX works with credits (100 or 300 included per month), shows the source of each price and requires your approval before anything is sent.
