GST/QST, CCQ payroll and SEAO with JobTread

Taxes: an update for Canada

A JobTread blog post (published on August 29, 2024) announces a feature for Canadian contractors: tax paid on purchases can be entered on requests for quotes, purchase orders and supplier bills. GST and HST are treated there as recoverable (not charged to the project cost), while PST and QST are treated as non-recoverable, and therefore added to the project cost. If you are registered for QST, have your accountant validate this treatment before relying on it.

In SubmitX, GST (5%) and QST (9.975%) are calculated automatically on quotes and invoices, with QuickBooks Online sync and Acomba and Sage 50 exports.

Payroll and CCQ

JobTread's integrations menu lists Gusto, a payroll service, with no details on the pricing page. We found no mention of the CCQ (Commission de la construction du Québec) or Quebec construction rates (checked on October 26, 2026). SubmitX includes CCQ payroll: see our CCQ payroll guide.

Public calls for tenders

No mention of SEAO found at JobTread. SubmitX offers SEAO monitoring.
