Houzz Pro at a glance: what the software does well
💡 Transparency: this article is written by the SubmitX team, so we are both judge and party. The facts about Houzz Pro come from its public pages viewed on October 26, 2026 (links at the bottom of the page). See a mistake? Write to support@submitx.ca and we will correct it.
Houzz Pro presents itself as all-in-one software for contractors and design professionals. Its home page names new construction, renovation, interior design, architecture and painting among the clienteles it serves.
Its strengths, according to its official pages
- Visual design: 3D floor plans, mood boards, selections and a product library, useful for selling a renovation project to a client.
- Pricing work: estimates, proposals, takeoffs, bid and contract management.
- Project management: calendar, daily logs, time tracking, tasks, photo and video storage, dashboards for clients and subcontractors.
- Finances: project costs, change orders, invoicing, online payments, financial reports and QuickBooks integration.
- Marketing: custom website, email marketing, premium profile on Houzz.com and advertising (optional).
- Free plan: 3D planner, estimates and invoicing, no credit card, according to its pricing page.
The most distinctive asset remains the link with the Houzz.com platform, where homeowners look for ideas and professionals. If some of your clients already find you on Houzz, that is a real argument.
How much does Houzz Pro cost? Published prices
According to Houzz Pro's pricing page (houzz.com/houzz-pro/pricing, viewed on October 26, 2026), displayed with the "$ CAD" mention in the header:
| Houzz Pro plan | Price shown | Users |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 (3D planner, estimates, invoicing) | Not specified |
| Design | $99/month | 1 user ($70/month per additional user) |
| Pro | $199/month | 1 user ($70/month per additional user) |
| Teams | From $399/month, possible additional fees depending on options | Unlimited |
Two honest remarks. First, the code of the same page contains another price grid ($139, $279 and $559 per month) whose conditions are not explained: ask Houzz for the exact price before signing. Second, the FAQ states a 30-day free trial, after which "your annual subscription begins". The advertising option is shown starting at $685/month.
SubmitX provides its prices on request, depending on the plan: Free; Starter (up to 3 users); Pro (up to 25 users); Ultra (25 users and more). 7-day trial with no card. Details on the Pricing page.
The difference in structure matters more than the displayed price: at Houzz Pro, the Design and Pro plans include 1 user, and each additional person is added monthly. At SubmitX, each plan has a cap of included users, with no per-seat add-ons.
Houzz Pro in French? Language, Canada and data
The Canadian App Store listing of the Houzz Pro app (seller: Houzz Inc.) lists French among its languages, along with English, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish. On the web pages we viewed, we found no details on the language of the web app: check it during the trial.
For Canada, the "Houzz Canada" page mentions localized features, including handling of combined tax rates and online client payments. We found no information on the country where data is hosted in the pages we viewed.
SubmitX is designed French first (English also available). Its database and files are hosted in Canada (Montreal), and some technical subprocessors are in the United States (AI, web hosting, payments, emails): the full list is in the security FAQ.
GST/QST, CCQ payroll and SEAO: needs specific to Quebec
Taxes
Houzz Pro's help ("How to Set Tax Rates for Canada") explains that only one tax rate can apply to each line of a document: you have to create a combined rate (its example is Newfoundland's HST). The page mentions neither Quebec nor QST. If your invoices must show GST (5%) and QST (9.975%) on two separate lines, check the output during the trial and have it validated by your accountant.
In SubmitX, GST and QST are calculated automatically on every quote and invoice. See also our guide on GST/QST on a quote.
Payroll and CCQ
Houzz Pro's pricing page lists a "Gusto integration (beta)" in the Pro and Teams plans, with no other details. We found no mention of the CCQ (Commission de la construction du Québec), construction wage rates or the monthly report to the CCQ (checked on October 26, 2026). SubmitX includes CCQ payroll and mobile timesheets: see the 2026 CCQ rate calculator.
Public calls for tenders
We found no mention of SEAO in the Houzz Pro pages we viewed. SubmitX offers SEAO monitoring with alerts by trade and region.

Who is each one for? Houzz Pro or SubmitX
Houzz Pro is a better fit if…
- You mostly do renovation or interior design and sell with 3D plans and mood boards.
- Some of your clients already find you on Houzz.com and you want to invest in visibility there.
- You work alone or as a pair and CCQ payroll is not a need.
- You want a website and email marketing in the same tool.
SubmitX is a fit if…
- You want to work in French and bill GST and QST without manual settings.
- You have employees subject to the CCQ and want payroll in the same tool.
- You bid on public calls for tenders and want SEAO monitoring.
- You prefer a number of included users with no per-seat add-ons.
Honest limitation: SubmitX is a young company (public launch in June 2026) with still few independent reviews, and its AI can make mistakes. That is why every AI-generated quote must be reviewed by the contractor before sending. Our pros and cons page lists all the limitations.
