FAQ — Construction Material Takeoff

How much paint do I need for a room?

As a rule of thumb, 1 litre of paint covers about 10 m² (roughly 108 sq ft) per coat. Measure the wall area (and ceiling if painted), subtract doors and windows, then multiply by the number of coats you plan to apply (usually 2).

How many drywall sheets do I need for a room?

A standard 4x8 ft drywall sheet covers about 2.97 m² (32 sq ft). Divide the total wall area (and ceiling if applicable) by that coverage, then add about 10% for cutting waste and overlap.

Are these estimates accurate?

No — these are quick estimates based on general industry coverage rules. Actual quantities vary by surface texture, product brand and room complexity. Always confirm with your supplier before final purchase.
